Hyrul Anuar was born in Sabak Bernam, Selangor in 1988. In 2011, he finished studying BA Film & Video at the Akademi Seni Budaya Dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA). After that, he worked for a year with a production house called Cube Film & Box Lite Film as a scriptwriter, film editor and motion graphic designer.
In 2012, he joined Leo Burnett in Kuala Lumpur, and worked there as a graphic designer for two years. At Leo Burnett, he mainly focused on Samsung, developing 360 integrated campaigns for the brand such as The Sparkle Project and Galaxy Wonderland.
In 2013, Hyrul represented Malaysia at the Adfest Asia Pacific Advertising Festival, and won both the Young Lotus Competition Prizes for his The Real Daydream Nation project. He was invited to join Fabrica (United Colors of Benetton’s Communication Research Center) in mid-2014, and has been working there since.

Bulu Puki: A tribute animation for my mother. She passed away 5 years ago and I really miss her, especially the argument situations we had together. Most of them were really funny and they still make me laugh when I think about her.

Hasad Dengki (Jealousy): These works were created based on the tragedy that befell my family, having lost a relative to the evils of black magic. It is believed that these things happen because of strong jealousy and envy that have such a hold onthe heart that it causes one to lose his or her hold on life. These works are compiled in a digital collection and were created using various mediums such as paint brush, texture and shape.
